We met through mutual friends in 2013. Henry was the childhood friend of my teammates boyfriend, who also was a good friend of mine from college. Henry was in town for the weekend and my teammate asked me to come to the movies with them. I went and had a good time we had a connection where we continued to talk a few weeks after but died off because neither of us were in the place for anything serious at the time. We continued to run into each other at our friends events but still just kept everything cordial. Three years later we ran into each other at another event and hit it off and had an instant connection. This time we were not looking for anything but in the space to accept if anything went any further and we have been together every since.

Somehow Kesi found out that I was going to see a movie with friends and made it her business to come so that she could see me (I was so surprised when she showed up out of nowhere). I eventually gave in and exchanged numbers with her.

My mom and family contacted me months before the proposal letting me know the dates they wanted to come visit me in Nashville, which is common because they always make a trip once a year to visit me. The date they chose was the week after my birthday which they disguised as a reason to celebrate my birthday with me. My family and Henry's family had never met before so Henry also mentioned it would be a good occasion for our families to finally meet and we all celebrate my birthday together. My family came in town and we hung out all over downtown Nashville and just spent time like we always do when they come in town, so again at this moment nothing is different or suspicious for me. Forward to the day of (September 29, 2018), the plan was for us all to go to a fancy dinner together for my birthday, in which Henry and I would meet everyone there. About 4:30 pm Henry and I headed to the Noelle Hotel where everyone was waiting. Soon as we arrived in the lobby Henry said he had to go to the bathroom. He then calls me while in the bathroom stating that he split his pants and would be a moment! (what i didn't know was that Henry actually hired a videographer and was getting mic' d up in the bathroom). Henry then came out of the bathroom after stating that his pants would be fine and for us just continue to go to the table for our dinner. We continued towards the elevator, once we got on the elevator and started to head up to our floor Henry whips out a mask to cover my eyes and told me I had to put it on before we got off the elevator. Crazy enough at this point i'm still not thinking anything other than two things. 1. the mask was going to mess up these beautiful new lashes I was trying out for the day and 2. My mom was making Henry be so extra about this birthday celebration (LOL). We got to the top floor as I blindly walked through what I didn't know at the time the rooftop of the Hotel. All I remember was the room suddenly got quiet and someone was positioning me to stand in a certain place. Then Henry asked me to remove the mask and there he was on bended knee as I stood in the middle of heart shaped rose pedals and candles surrounded by family members and friends! It was beautifully done and Henry went above and beyond to make that moment bigger than I could of ever dreamed of and I am so appreciative and blessed! Love Him!
